The Club at Cordillera is the recreational and social centerpiece of the most extraordinary private mountain community in North America. From the Vail Valley floor to Cordillera’s Summit, Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Dave Pelz and Hale Irwin have crafted four extraordinary golf courses, each with an award-winning clubhouse and its own special ambience and culinary experience.

And there’s so much more than golf. Within its thousands of acres, Cordillera has private Eagle River fishing, the acclaimed Spa, an indoor equestrian arena, miles of riding, hiking and Nordic ski trails, three tennis courts, five indoor and outdoor pools, four fitness facilities, a portal to a million acres of wilderness and a summer camp and Trailhead clubhouse for children.

Cordillera is a community in progress, offering year-round opportunities to participate in clubs, classes, events, celebrations, outings and tournaments, all in the company of the finest people in the world.

Four acclaimed handcrafted golf courses maintained with exquisite care provide a mountain and high-desert golf experience available only at Cordillera. The Summit, Mountain, Valley and Short Course represent golf at its finest, providing the most balanced, challenging and enjoyable mountain golf in the world. Situated on widely varying terrains in four microclimates, ranging in altitude from 7,150 feet on the Vail Valley floor to 9,200 feet at Cordillera’s Summit, these courses reflect the best thinking of the greatest course designers at work today and have received, time and again, golf’s greatest accolades.

Situated at 9,200 feet along the spectacular upper reaches of Cordillera, the Summit Course represents Jack Nicklaus at his minimalist best. Struck by 360-degree views of the nearby Gore and Sawatch Ranges and the sheer natural beauty of the site, the world’s most acclaimed golf course designer took extraordinary measures to see that the course fit seamlessly into the existing terrain.Hale Irwin’s 7,444-yard Mountain Course provides players with tree-lined fairways and sharp changes in elevation. Rolling across undulating land that once served as cattle grazing meadows, through mature stands of aspen and fir, this course is a Member favorite for its dramatic terrain and its spectacular scenery.

Laid out on the warm Vail Valley floor with its sage, arroyos and mountain streams, Tom Fazio’s Valley Course stretches over 400 acres of beautifully groomed high-mountain desert. Its narrow ravines, spring-fed water hazards, expansive fairways and ample bunkers skillfully combine challenge and playability. Blessed with southern exposures, the Valley Course is open from April to October and offers Members one of the longest playing season in the Vail Valley.

Cordillera consulted with the most respected short-course teaching professional in the game, Dave Pelz, to develop this unique 10-hole, par 3 course. As magnificent as it is unusual, the Short Course features strategically placed greens and fairways that demand accurate shots. This short course and instructional facility is sophisticated enough for serious players wishing to develop a stronger short game, while providing a relaxed golf experience for every ability level.

The Lodge & Spa is an ideal complement to Cordillera’s rugged high-alpine environment, where gracious hospitality, health and wellness take center stage. Recognized by Conde Nast Traveler as ‘one of the best places to stay in the world’, this retreat has 54 individually designed suites, each with fireplace and stunning views of two mountain ranges and the Vail Valley, the Spa, fitness center, conference rooms and business center, and the celebrated Restaurant Mirador. The spa, consistently ranked one of the finest in North America, offers a full array of therapies, treatments and wellness classes with professionals to provide individually designed fitness programs. The newly designed facility includes a 25-meter indoor lap pool, heated outdoor pool, fitness center, treatment and therapy chambers, specialized strength and cardiovascular equipment, saunas, steam rooms and dedicated training rooms. Members have five outstanding venues from which to choose a dining experience, from a simple continental breakfast to a relaxed midday meal with friends, or an evening of romantic elegance. Cordillera’s five distinctive restaurants provide many culinary choices and atmospheres.

Located at the Mountain Course Clubhouse, the Timber Hearth Grill has imaginative American cuisine served with a distinct western flair and is a year-round Member favorite. During the winter, horse-drawn sleighs depart Timber Hearth for romantic tours of the moonlit landscape. The sophisticated dining at The Lodge & Spa is the gastronomic centerpiece of Cordillera. Winner of many prestigious dining awards, Mirador’s innovative European fare is enhanced with generous offerings of locally grown fresh vegetables and herbs. Dramatic views of New York Mountain, elegant service and a wine list honored by Wine Spectator assure a stellar dining experience. Grouse-on-the-Green is a delightful pub that is authentically Irish. Its interior was designed and built in Ireland and shipped to Cordillera for assembly here. Members enjoy Irish potato pancakes, shepherd’s pie, Flanagan’s fish and chips and other Emerald Isle fare. Gaze out the windows and absorb the color and texture of the Short Course against the distinct mountain backdrop. The Chaparral is a mountain casual grill with breathtaking mountain panorama, offering classic American fare at the Cordillera Valley Club. Throughout the playing season, The Summit, a charmingly rustic spot at the Summit Course Clubhouse, serves up hearty lunches of soups, salads and sandwiches, plus mountaintop views for hundreds of miles.

The first of its kind in private clubs, the Trailhead Family Center is a rustic, two-story log lodge with its own pool, outdoor playground and fort, great lawn and indoor game and recreation center. Set amid 10 acres of play area and forest, the Trailhead acknowledges the importance of younger Cordillera children and family activities. A combination of youth center, pool, climbing gym, rolling green with barbecue, western fort and teepee village, the Trailhead is headquarters for several organized youth programs under the summer Camp Cordy umbrella, each with age-appropriate activities for sunny and rainy days. The Trailhead is the jumping-off-point for 15 miles of trails that wind through hundreds of acres of Cordillera open space. Trails provide families with open-air exercise in a naturalist’s paradise through stunning hills, ravines and wildlife corridors.
